Twin Cities Volkssports Annual Meeting Morning of October 20, 2007 Name: Gideon Pond-Dakota House / Bloomington Parks walk Sponsor: Twin Cities Voklssports Start Point: Riverside Reformed Church, 102nd & Nicollet Ave South, Bloomington Start/Finish Time: Start: Register from 8:30 until 9:00a.m. (11K), until 9:30 (6K) Finish: Group walk. Expected to finish between 11:15 & 11:30 If one wishes to walk as an individual, they must register and start not less than 10 minutes before group-walk departure. Distance: 11K guided walk starts promptly at 9:00, 6K at 9:30 Trail Rating/Description: 6K & 11K guided walk. Trail is on Bloomington city streets, and through Bloomington's Moir, Central, Anderson, Hopkins, and Pond parks. Also through Minnesota Valley NWR. Trail follows parts of 9-mile creek and the Minnesota river. As this is a group-walk, trail will not be marked. No strollers or wheelchairs. Rating 2 Dogs on leash welecome on the trail. Directions: From East or West, take Interstate I494 to the Nicollet Avenue exit. Turn south on Nicollet about 2 miles to 102nd. From North or South, take Interstate I35W to the 98th Avenue exit. Turn East on 98th about 1/2 mile to Nicollet, then south on Nicollet. At 102nd & Nicollet, turn left on 102nd & right into parking lot. Parking: Park near the south end of church lot, and enter the southeast door. Special: Following the walk, you are invited to join TCV for their annual meeting. Refreshments will be served.
